The USO of NC Sandhills Area in partnership with the Cool Springs District and the Downtown Alliance presents the Fayetteville Challenge, a fundraising event that will be held from 1-4PM, on Saturday, June 16, 2018.
The Fayetteville Challenge will bring at least 100 participants to downtown Fayetteville for an afternoon of fun and exploration of points of interest, landmarks, and local businesses. Teams will arrive and check in at the USO of NC Mobile Center based at the Bright Lights Brewing Company rally point at 444 Russell Street. Participants will use a smart phone with a web-based map and head toward their challenge locations.
Registration for this event requires two-person teams with a maximum of 50 teams. Participants should form a team and come dressed to win a Team Theme prize. For reasons beyond our control, no pets are permitted to join the downtown adventure. A team includes two adult entries (individuals over age 16 are considered an adult) including a t-shirt. Children under the age of 16 can participate with their family at no cost (free) but children’s t-shirts are not available.
Using a smart phone, a web page will lead teams through downtown Fayetteville and each team member will be required to complete a challenge at a specific location in order to earn points for the finish. In addition to landmark visits, teams will collect challenge tokens and extra points from downtown businesses, and by visiting additional points of interest along the way. Teams will be given a window of time to complete the challenge, and participants are encouraged to walk the route.
Fayetteville Challenge teams will use social media to post, tag, and share their progress, challenges and photos of places of interest.
The Fayetteville Challenge will wrap up at Bright Lights Brewing Company for an awards ceremony. A food truck will be available for food and beverage purchase, and Bright Light Brewing will be open.
