State Office Volunteer Opportunities

Administrative Assistance Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to assist in the everyday operations of the USO of NC. Administrative volunteers answer phones, file, type, run errands, stuff envelopes, manage reservation lists for free ticket offers, and help answer questions. This is the ideal position for someone who could give anywhere between two to eight hours a day, one to three days a week.

Jacksonville Center Volunteer Opportunities

At USO of NC Jacksonville, volunteers play a special role in keeping our service members connected to family, home and country. Whether it is welcoming visitors to our center, or welcoming troop’s home from a long deployment, volunteers lead with their hearts and serve with integrity.

We’re looking for volunteers who have a commitment to our mission to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation . The following volunteer opportunities are currently available at USO of NC Jacksonville:

SPECIAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS: USO of NC, Jacksonville Center participates in community and military events in and around the Camp Lejeune, New River, and Cherry Point areas and beyond. These events include: homecomings, deployments, unit family days, resource fairs, sports and entertainment events, holiday parties and fundraisers. Volunteers represent the USO of NC through various outlets, including informational booths. Special Event volunteers assist with the set-up and take down at off-site events. Volunteers must have great interpersonal skills, a good working knowledge of USO of NC, and be willing to help with a wide-range of tasks. Specific duties will be assigned based on the scope of the event.

ELLIS AIRPORT CENTER: Volunteers at our airport center help provide a warm, comfortable place for our service members and their families to relax as they travel through the area. Airport volunteers assist with daily operational tasks at the center such as welcoming patrons, providing refreshments, answering phones and maintaining the center.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS: The USO of NC, Jacksonville Center is looking for those with special skills in fundraising, marketing, event planning, and other similar skills to assist on fundraising/ special events committees. Volunteers in this capacity would work with the center staff and current center volunteers in the planning and development, soliciting of sponsorship’s and donations, marketing and executing of events to support the USO of NC, Jacksonville Center.
