USO of North Carolina hosts trap shooting fundraiser in support of military service members

Fayetteville, NC – The USO of North Carolina is hosting a trap shooting event March 22 – 23 at the Fort Bragg Clay Target Center in Spring Lake, NC. Traps for Troops is an opportunity for members of the local community to have fun on the range and show their support for those who serve. Event proceeds will benefit military service members and their families in the Sandhills Area through critical programs and services offered by the USO of North Carolina.

Traps for Troops tickets are $50 and include entry, 100 clays and ear and eye protection. Shotgun rental and ammo are available at an additional cost and participants have the option to bring their own 12 gauge shotgun and ammo (7 ½, 8 or 9 lead shot size only). Individuals interested in supporting the event may also sponsor service members by gifting registrations.

The USO of North Carolina is a nonprofit organization not funded by the national USO or the government. In the Sandhills Area alone, the USO of NC operates three centers for service members and military families, offering nearly 100,000 service connections annually.

“Traps for Troops is a great opportunity to get out there and give it a shot for our service members,” said Renee Lane, USO of North Carolina Sandhills Area director. “Here at the USO of North Carolina, we aim to strengthen our service members by connecting them to family home and country, but we can’t do it without the help of our local community. I challenge both beginners and experts to come out and join us as the Force Behind the Forces.”
