Financial Literacy

Connecting the Dots in Personal Finance

Recognizing that Financial Literacy is a subject that touches every part of a military family’s life, the USO of North Carolina offers the most comprehensive resiliency and transition programming by embedding a financial literacy component into every workshop. As with all USO of North Carolina Programs, spouses and family members are encouraged to attend with their service member.

Under the guidance of local military leadership, the USO of NC launched its Financial Literacy course, Military Money Matters. This flexible course gives attendees basic knowledge of their financial world all the way to investing and retirement information.

From buying a car to thinking through when to buy a home or how to save for the future, we will cover it. In addition to the workshop attendees will receive a workbook, a copy of a Get It Together Real World Guide book, a 15 minute consultation with an expert, a case management system via email after the class, and a great start to their financial future.

Topics previously covered in the 15 minute consultations range from divorce and child support to saving for the future, investing and credit score improvement techniques.
