Raleigh - Lunch and Learn: Bridging the tech workforce with military talent

This event last took place on Aug 16th, 2018
11:00 AM EDT (1100Q)

If you are a North Carolina technology industry employer, a veteran, service member or military family member, planning to exit the military and work in the Raleigh-Durham area, then this event is for you! Learn how military veterans help bridge the IT workforce shortage in North Carolina.

For those transferring out of the military, finding a job in the civilian workplace can be a challenge. WGU North Carolina and the USO of North Carolina are joining together to help local service members and employers bridge the gap.

Employers will walk away with an understanding of the many ways military experience translates into careers in information technology management, system administration, network operations and security, software development, cybersecurity, computer science, and data analytics.

Attendees will receive:

  • Information about the technology landscape in Raleigh-Durham
  • Career and transition resource information from USO of NC resource officers including resume writing, cover letters interview best practices and more
  • Access to WGU North Carolina staff and alumni to learn more about the university’s undergraduate and degree program offerings and military scholarships
